ID Tags and The Gentle Leader

The Gentle Leader Headcollar

We have been using the Gentle Leader on our Lab and he has gone from pulling us down the trail to walking with us.  The headcollar works like a mom dog controlling her puppies by holding the nose until they behave.  It does not hurt them.  When the dog pulls and the nose strap tightens around the nose the dog slows down.  Besides just walking and sitting the gentle Leader is also used for barkers, jumpers, pullers, lunges and begging for treats.  The collar can also be used on aggression problems but theses problems need supervision from a vet or a trainer.

Now we can walk our Best Friend instead of them walking us.  Call us for information or for a collar.

We will be stocking a varity of sizes at a good price.

ID Tags

One out of Three Pets will get lost:

Most wearing ID tags will be returned.

Most with out ID tags will not be returned.

Everyone should have a tag with your name and phone number on your pet.

However when you are gone or at work you are not at home to answer the phone.

In the past we have put our ID tags on your pet . We will be getting new tags and will be happy to give you one at any time. As we do sits we will add  them on to your pets collar. These tags have our name and number. That way if they can’t find you they will call us.

Cats:  We have collars for cats which work very well we sell these at a low price. Jenny’s cat has had one for years.

EPONA

 - A Safe Haven for Horses

Founded in January 1999, Epping-based EPONA is dedicated to the betterment of life for all horses.  Twenty-four Premarin foals were rescued from an auction in Manitoba, Canada last fall.  It is estimated that more than 50,000 Premarin foals are sent to auction each year and most of them end up in slaughterhouses.  EPONA representatives will be attending the auction again this fall and more foals will be available for adoption.

EPONA (Equine Protection of North America) serves as a horse retirement home, as well as a rescue mission for horses who have been abused by their owners.  In its first year of operation, EPONA rescued 36 horses.  Most of them have been placed in new homes with caring owners.  The first horse rescued, Blessed, a nine-year-old thoroughbred gelding retired from the racetrack, remains at the EPONA barn as the organization's mascot.

If you are interested in adopting a Premarin foal in the fall, providing a loving home for a rescued horse, sponsoring a horse at EPONA, or volunteering, please call 679-1896.  Your fully tax-deductible financial contributions are welcomed!

Grooming

Right now until August we will be doing baths, nails, and drying.  Annie will come in ONLY for small breeds and clipping, that depends on her schedule.  ( for those of you that don’t know  Annie is expecting) The big dog baths will be done by Jenny.   But we are looking for a groomer for the summer to help with baths and clipping.

We are also looking for old towels or blankets to dry off  the critters.  If you have any that you would like to donate you can drop them off at our office or leave them for us to pickup when we come to visit you pets.  If you have big towels, small towels or old blankets to line the crates that would be great.  The dogs and cats would like to thank you for the help.
